ted talk artist

i decided to watch a few of the TED talks in order to see which artist i think matches up to my practice. i can't say i found an exact match, but one specific artist resonated with me: raghava KK and his 5 lives as an artist. i was intrigued by the words "honesty and vulnerability" found in the summary of this talk. raghava's work ranges from cartoons/caricatures, paintings, drawings, etc to examine the body, society, and our world. he tells the story of how his life experiences have been the cause of his multiple reincarnations as an artist. he is able to challenge and reinvent himself through the pieces he creates. one particular part about this talk that stood out to me is when he speaks about exploring the darker abscesses of the human mind. he says, "of course, my work turned ugly". his artwork was no longer the funny caricatures or the beautiful dancing figures. they were raw, and real. raghava KK stated that he wanted people to feel his work from their gut because he was producing it from his gut. during this phase of his career his works turned "autobiographical".
